MySlideShow Gold

The first thing you need to know is that developer Anix Software has two version of the MySlideShow application to offer. There’s MySlideShow, an application that we’ve reviewed a short while ago, and then there’s MySlideShow Gold. You can think of the two applications as brothers – MySlideShow is the smaller brother while MySlideShow Gold is the bigger brother.

Since MySlideShow Gold is the bigger brother, it can do everything the smaller brother can. Here’s what MySlideShow can do:
- Easily create slideshows using your pictures

- Add a soundtrack to your slideshow. You can select the soundtrack’s volume, start time and end time. If you use more than one tune, you have fade in and fade out options.
- Automatic synchronization with audio
- Choose between various transition effects
- Filmstrip and preview screens
- Save your slideshow as a video file (VCD, SVCD, DVD and WMV), Flash file, or executable (.exe)
- Burn VCD and SVCD discs

As a good big brother, MySlideShow Gold can do a bit more than its littler brother. MySlideShow Gold comes with the following extras:
- Custom audio synchronization
- Pan and zoom effects for output video files
- Place additional text boxes, images and video clips on slides

Installation – at the time of writing this, and according to the developer, MySlideShow Gold provides support for the old but popular Windows XP, the much avoided Windows Vista, and the latest and greatest, Windows 7. During the installation process MySlideShow Gold asks you if you want to create a desktop shortcut and/or Quick Launch icon.
Limitations – you can use the application free of charge only for a trial period of 30 days.
